Jane & Michael’s Story – Smile Makeover

Michael and I came to see Gavin for a consultation just over 18 months ago, having been recommended to us by our local NHS dentist.

Jane’s story
Initially I came to see Gavin as I needed an implant to replace a missing tooth. I was also interested in filling a gap which Gavin filled with another implant. As time went on Gavin finessed my smile with some further work which included additional composites, white fillings and a change to the colour of an existing crown. At no point did I ever feel pressured to have additional treatment- it was entirely my choice and I am so glad that I did- I’m much more confident now when I smile. Here are both of us at our daughter’s wedding at Sefton Park Palm House on 5th September 2020 – the first wedding held there after ‘lockdown summer’ – we were so lucky to be able to go ahead and had a really lovely day, despite the limited numbers and other Covid restrictions. I have a similar photograph of me at another wedding before my treatment. I was smiling with my lips closed- and that’s the difference my new smile makes to me!

Michael’s story
I wanted to straighten and whiten my teeth, as over the years they had lost their straightness and sparkle. Gavin recommended Invisalign treatment and introduced me to Amy one of their Invisalign dentists who took over my straightening and whitening. The treatment took about a year and was completed in time for our daughter Rachel’s wedding.

I’m delighted with my treatment, Amy is a brilliant dentist and I stuck to exactly what she prescribed. I have since been to see Amy again to get a new retainer to replace the one I’d broken and she noticed a little movement in one of my teeth, so we are moving it back again with another aligner.

All in all we have had a lot of dental treatment between us and it has cost quite a lot of money. However we both feel that it has been well worth it as our smiles are something we see every day when we look in the mirror. So to us it has been money very well spent. In fact we are so pleased with our treatment that we have joined Gavin’s practice.

We both feel that the team at Dental Solutions genuinely care about you and want you to be completely happy. It’s a lovely atmosphere whenever you walk in- you are always greeted by your name and everyone seems to be genuinely enjoying what they do. Gavin has a calm friendly manner and is clearly an expert in what he does.
