I had braces as a child but 20 years down the line I noticed that my teeth were becoming increasingly crooked – especially more so in the past two or three years. When I looked at old photographs of me smiling at different angles my teeth just didn’t look nice anymore. I even started covering my mouth with my hand when I smiled.
I live near Lymm and kept seeing the practice from the car park when I went shopping and thinking to myself, ‘Should I go?’ . Finally, it was a special offer banner outside the practice which prompted me to take action and finally walk in through the door to ask for a consultation. I met with Richard who talked me through the different options available including 6 Month Smiles, Invisalign and Lingual braces. I decided that 6 Month Smiles would be best for me.
When I first had my braces fitted I felt as though I couldn’t put my lips together properly – they felt like they were sticking out, but that sensation went away after a couple of days. The braces are actually white so people only seemed to notice them when I actually told them I was wearing braces! In photographs, you couldn’t see them either which was good too.
Whilst very straightforward, the treatment took longer than Richard and I expected – it was nearly sixteen months. Initially, my teeth moved very quickly, but then they became very stubborn and it took longer than expected to move into position. I didn’t mind, though – the time flew by.
Now my treatment is complete I smile much more, and I have got rid of the nasty habit I had adopted of covering my mouth! My inner confidence has now returned.
My only regret about the whole process was that I waited so long to get my teeth straightened. I can highly recommend Dental Solutions to anyone- Richard was very gentle and kind – in fact, the whole team are great, and I am so glad that I had the work done.
