I had spent a lot of my childhood in the North East going to and from dentists and dental hospitals for treatment. I have a genetic condition called Amelogenesis Imperfecta- it’s basically where your tooth enamel doesn’t form on your teeth, so my teeth were brown in appearance. I’d had some composite bonding in Warrington done by the hospital and the results were far from what I’d envisaged, but I was always told that I would need some further work in the years ahead.
I was signed off by the hospital in 2014, moved to the North West in 2015 and in 2017 I got engaged. My wedding was postponed last year due to Covid, and actually I was one of the few people that were happy to be wearing a mask during lockdown so people didn’t have to see my teeth.
So in January of this year, with my postponed wedding in Durham looming large in August, I knew that I wanted to have the perfect smile for my wedding photos and videos, otherwise, I would feel sad and live with the regret that I hadn’t done anything about it.
After all those years spent in dental clinics and hospitals, I knew quite a lot about the dentist I was looking for. I wanted a private dentist who had a great deal of experience with restorative dentistry. I spent a long time researching private dentists online in the North West before I settled on calling Dental Solutions. I liked their website and their patient testimonials and reviews. At my consultation with Gavin, I knew that I had come to the right place. Everyone there is so lovely and welcoming- a world apart from the NHS dentists I had seen in the past. I just thought to myself, this is where I need to be.
The veneers treatment so far has been quick- I still have my lower teeth to finish but I was so delighted with my new smile that I posted a selfie of me smiling for the first time ever on Instagram!
The treatment isn’t cheap but goodness it has been worth every penny. I have been helped financially by my family and fiancé. I am also aware they offer interest-free and bearing credit deals. So to anyone who is considering getting a smile makeover I would say, if you can find the means to, just do it.
I can’t believe the difference it has made to me- everyone who has supported me over the years of taking me to dental appointments just loves how I look now when I facetime them. And instead of loving wearing masks during lockdown, I now can’t wait till the day when we don’t have to wear them and I can show off my new smile. I used to wear neutral lipsticks and smoky eye make up to draw attention away from my teeth- now I just can’t wait to wear bright lips!
Finally, I have been so pleased with my care I am intending to stay as a patient of Dental Solutions so I can keep my new smile in perfect condition.
