I was one of the first people in the UK to have the All on Four treatment procedure with Richard Brookshaw and I have to say that it’s the best thing that I could have had done. Before the treatment, I wouldn’t smile as I hated my teeth so much. It was my husband who encouraged me to have the treatment before he died so I felt that I was honouring his wishes.
I was very clear in my own mind that I didn’t want a fake ‘Simon Cowell’ white or straight smile – I wanted my teeth to look natural and slightly crooked and Gavin and the technical team worked really hard to get them looking just right. I couldn’t have been happier when they were first fitted. I could also eat exactly what I like. I remember my late husband having to take out his dentures in order to taste his food, and I knew that I’d never want to be in the same situation. I have much more confidence than I had before the procedure – I go to yoga regularly and maintain a very active lifestyle thanks mainly to my dog.
Over the eight years since All on Four treatment, I have just had one problem which was completely of my own making. I was biting a fingernail and I chipped one of the teeth. Fortunately, I was able to come into the practice to wait in comfort whilst the technician repaired the tooth there and then.
