I’ve always been an NHS dental patient, but I’d been struggling with my teeth, and then with dentures for the last 15 years to the point that I knew I needed to have implants.
To be honest, I never felt 100{4a9254d467a64c1e51086d3bdd1107e0bcb2b3308df85966a5fd21f50c95df53} confident when I was wearing dentures- either that they would become loose or even drop out. It was beginning to affect the way I felt in social situations and I knew that there were better alternatives to dentures out there.
Shortly after I retired, I discussed the options available to me with my NHS dentist, but I really felt that I needed to be treated by someone who was performing implants and nothing else.
So, I researched the different dentists on and off for 2 months throughout the North West – I actually live near to Chester – before I made the call and came to see Gavin in Lymm.

I was still wary about having it done right up to the point of having the procedure itself, but I needn’t have worried – I had an anesthetist Patrick to sedate me while Richard Brookshaw the implant surgeon worked away and I didn’t feel a single thing.
Nicky the treatment facilitator gave me all of the post-operative instructions which I followed to the letter such as using ice packs and taking over-the-counter pain killers. Luckily, I had no pain or bruising which I know some people do get.
You have to stick to a soft diet to begin with which is a bit boring – I got quite sick of yoghurts, but now I eat whatever I want. To anyone considering All-on-4 I would say with no hesitation- ‘Get it done!’ I’m so glad I did.
