Invisalign Introduces Weekly Aligner Changes

There’s been a new development at Invisalign that means certain patients can receive new aligners every 7 days, instead of fortnightly. This could dramatically reduce the length of treatment time, which is fab for news for Invisalign patients! Read more about what this means for patients below.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign straightens the teeth by using a series of almost invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your mouth. The process is extremely discreet, which is why many adults prefer this method to traditional metal braces.

Furthermore, Invisalign offers an excellent alternative to traditional fixed braces for those who may feel self-conscious. They can transform a smile without disrupting your day-to-day life. Great news for those working adults who want teeth alignment treatment without the hassle. Many patients also choose to have invisalign as a step before other treatments such as veneers or crowns.

How Does it Work?

As the name suggests, Invisalign is very different to traditional teeth straightening treatments. The first main difference is that unlike fixed braces, they have no wires or brackets. This means there is no need for any uncomfortable fittings when getting braces. What’s more, the popularity of Invisalign is largely down to the fact they are comfortable, virtually invisible and removable. The removability factor makes them very easy to clean and reposition. This allows the patient to feel cleaner and fresher than they might with metal braces.

Typically the dentist will replace each aligner every two weeks. This means your teeth will move little by little, week by week, into a straight position. Usually this treatment can take up to 6 to 18 months depending on the severity of the problem. With the new development, this could be almost halved!

Invisalign G7

Engineered to improve finishing, Invisalign G7 is the latest innovation from Invisalign. Powered by SmartStage technology, it includes a set of features that should facilitate better control of tooth movements, improving the treatment outcome.

Furthermore, G7 addresses some of the treatment finishing challenges, which are particularly common in teenage patients. The SmartStage technology optimises tooth movements and aligner activation. Delivering better upper lateral control, improved root control, and features that will address the prevention of posterior open bites.

Invisalign at Dental Solutions

The new weekly aligner changes, prescribed at the doctor’s discretion, will simply involve the patient changing aligners every week rather than every two weeks. This means your orthodontist could reduce treatment time by up to 50, giving you your dream smile in half the time! Ask our team at Dental Solutions about halving your treatment time and what the new G7 treatment can offer by contacting us. We provide no obligation consultations for all our patients.
