A Little Bit About Lauren…

After joining the practice in 2016, Lauren has quickly become an integral part of the team here at Dental Solutions. In 2011, Lauren qualified in as a dentist at Liverpool University. She continues to increase her professional development post-graduation by attending courses on Dental Health, Dental Acupuncture and Endodontics; always keen to improve and provide the best possible care for patients.

Lauren is currently on a year-long CADE (Centre for Advanced Dental Education) course on dental implants, run by our very own Richard Brookshaw! Here she is practising implants on a model:

Outside of work, Lauren is a passionate supporter of West Bromwich Albion women’s football club. And she enjoys travelling–from Paris to Hong Kong–whilst spending time with her husband and two children.

You have been working at Dental Solutions for a while now, but what drew you to working here?

The opportunity to learn new skills and use the most up to date materials and equipment.

What’s the best part of your day at Dental Solutions?

Chatting with patients! I love getting to know people and building relationships

What has surprised you most about working in the dental industry?

Just how much work goes on ‘behind the scenes’ by the nurses, managers and treatment coordinators. Also dentists have to do a certain number of hours of continued professional development each year – which wasn’t on the dental school application!

What would you like to be famous for? Realistically, what would you actually be famous/infamous for?

I’d LIKE to be famous for captaining West Bromwich Albion ladies team. More realistically? Hmmm, holding the world record for washing the most baby vests in 24 hours?

The title of your autobiography is…

‘Blinded by the (dental) light’ (Springsteen fans will get it).

If you could travel anywhere in the world/universe–that you’ve never been to before–where would it be?

Tour of Japan! The one thing I wish we’d done before kids

What was the last thing you read/watched/listened to?

Read – This is Going to Hurt by Adam Kay

Watched – The Crown

Listened to – The Boss (Bruce Springsteen)

And finally, what do you do to wind down after work every day?

I can’t remember when I last did ‘wind down’!! (I have a 2 year old and a 9 month old so ask me again in 18 years perhaps?).
